How I had the best first day…

How did I have the best first day of school?

Let’s see…. I sipped a tall cup of peppermint tea while reading civics on my cozy, white chair. Twinkling, string lights draped on over my ATC wall make my room the best place to start my school day. And you can’t get a more cozy school uniform than pajamas accompanied by a warm, fuzzy blanket. You can’t get a more delicious school lunch than a fresh tomato sandwich on the front porch. You can’t get a more enjoyable school recess than a video chat with some blogging friends between science and history (yeah, that happened).

And lastly, the main highlight of my day, you may ask? Getting a blue raspberry coolatta… I have wanted one for 3 summers now. I finally got to have the chilly, blue goodness in my hands.

It was picturesque. I sulked over the fact that I didn’t bring my camera with me as I slowly sipped the glorious blue slush. Of course, I was too thankful to be savoring the blue joy to have much time for sulkiness. Mind you, the nice man who made my coolatta topped it with a dome lid, which gave me even more yumminess.

Thank you, mom, for the best back-to-school treat (and not only because it was my first one). You helped me finally cross that off my bucket list!

And that’s how I had one of the best first days of school ever.

    We kinda-sorta started school… 😛 We’ve got a live online class weekly and a few other things, but we’re still kind of on vacation because we got a cold and some of us aren’t feeling well. 😉

  2. Sounds like you had a fun first day of school! We started last week, but I’m looking forward to when our activities start (homeschool gym, homeschool choir, etc.).
    Ah! I’m going to be busy the weekend of the ATC trade, but this will be a reminder for me to start making them.

  8. Awesome!! It feels kind of nice to get back into the homeschool groove, doesn’t it?! 😀 Which civics curriculum are you using?
    YUUUUUSSSS!!!! EEEEEEEK!!!! I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ATC TRADE!!!! 😀 Will totally be participating again! Btw, I’ve gotten one of my besties hooked on ATCs, and from what she’s told me, it sounds like she’s told about half of our Youth Group about them, too! 😀 😀
