Tie dye Easter eggs!

Happy Easter!

Today I’m going to show you how to make super cool tie dye eggs! So let’s get started.

The things you will be needing are:

  • Paper towel
  • Vinegar
  • Food coloring
  • Spray bottle
  • Rubber bands
  • Sandwich bag
  • Container to use for dye

Fill up the spray bottle with water. Then add a couple teaspoons of vinegar.

Lay a piece of paper towel on a throw-away container and start randomly dripping the food coloring on the paper towel.

Next, spray your water/vinegar mixture on the paper towel until the colors have blended together. (This is the part I kept forgetting!)

Roll your hard-boiled egg around on the paper towel.

Bring up all the four corners around the egg.

Stick the paper-towel-wrapped egg in a plastic bag and tie it shut with a rubber band (or silly band :p).

Let the egg sit for about 30 minutes and un-bag it to reveal the awesomeness :D.

I find this technique really fun, and it turns out AMAZING! Both the pictures above are different sides of the same egg.

I think both of them are cool, but, I have to admit, the top one is way better!

Have a fun time dyeing eggs! Oh, and I would love to see your eggs you dye (even if it isn’t with this technique). So make sure to send me a picture using the contact me page.

  1. We dye eggs (both hard-boiled and not) and the hard-boiled ones look so cool, even when you put them in a soolid color! Plus, the dye soals into the actual egg, so the egg you eat is also colored! 😛

  2. That’s really cool! I always tie dye eggs with my Nana and PapPap but since we moved we didn’t this year :(. But, I still had a really fin time coming up with cool ideas!
